For years Mark Wahlberg lived in California, the state which houses Hollywood where he works. However, in a recent move, the actor has made a big decision to leave the state of California altogether.
He has decided to leave the state he has called home for such a long time now so that his children can have more freedom. He said in an interview, his main motivation was, “So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.”
Since he has moved, he plans on spending more time with his family. “Every free moment that I have, I’m at home,” Walhberg said of his current routine.
But this does not mean the actor is calling it quits on his career or leaving Hollywood. In fact, he plans on making a “Hollywood 2.0” in Nevada, by establishing his own state-of-the-art film studio.

He hopes that his studio will receive some tax credit. “I moved to Nevada where after this gubernatorial election, hopefully, it will go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get tax credit for the state — build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0,” Wahlberg told CBS in a statement.
Earlier in the year, the actor bought a $14.5-million luxury home in Las Vegas, setting his intentions of making the city his permanent home.
While he is moving on to greener pastures in a move that makes sense for his family, the actor was very careful to make sure he does not say anything negative about California.
The actor’s decision to leave his Hollywood home for a property in Las Vegas is surprising but not completely out of the blue. Hopefully, this decision will benefit him and his family!
